Valentine mixed media tag

Tein pari mallityötä Fiskarsin työkaluilla Fiskarettesiin myös ystävänpäivää silmällä pitäen. Ensimmäiseksi julkaisin namurasian ja nyt on vuorossa mixed media tyylinen tagi, jossa on käytetty mm. I published few Valentine ideas in Fiskarettes blog this week and wanted to share them here in my personal blog also. First project was this Valentine Favor Wrap.

Second project is a mixed media tag for a friend. I have used a tag from Prima watercolor paper tag pad where I applied some gold and pink Gelatos. First I rubbed the Gelatos on my craft mat and then sprayed some water over them and mixed with a brush before adding the color to the tag to get the watercolored look. After the background was dry I stamped some love themed texts with Archival Ink to cover the entire tag.  Then I used the heat gun to make it dry faster and the ink is secured.

Then I took some texture paste and applied it through Tim Holtz Hearts stencil on the center of the card. Again I used the heat gun to fasten the drying process. After the paste was dried I sprayed some Picked Raspberry and Dried Marigold Distress Stain Sprays over the hearts. I dried the surface with a heat gun between the colors and after the final color spraying I also added some Perfect Pearls pearlecent spray on the top layer. Then I added some drops of white Dylysions spray as a final touch for the background.

Then I punched 4 hearts with L-sized Fiskars Squeeze Punch and sprayed them with same sprays that I used with the tag's background. After I dried the hearts with heatgun, I took the Faber-Castell Stamper's Big Brush: White -marker and made some dots on them and also added some white for the edges to really make them stand-out from the background. Then I attached the hearts to the tag with some gluedots and also added some white of the edges of the tag.

As my tag was stained from the back during the process, I mounted it to a white cardstock and cut it of with a few millimetres from the edge of the tag to make nice frame for the tag.  I used Fiskars circle punch to make a new hole on the top and added some red and white ribbon to finish the project.

It was so fun to make that I'm thinking about making some more with different colors to give with friends with their valentine gifts.

As you can see the white Dylysions spray dots and white Stamper's Big Brush marker really pop out from the colorful background and freshen the color scheme.

The texture paste hearts and puched hearts give a nice structure for the tag,
